maybe Alien's incident..maybe ghost incident.......since writer thomas didn't know what he did......since some Ghost incident also likes that...of course........this can ans. by scientific ( of course I don't believe...but I can give u another reference)...
the doctor states that after alchol ..ur brain will be under a confusing ga condition.....this condition brain will keep running but without store anything...even not drink too much.....since this is some biological effect...then the people will have some short-term ~space~ in ur mind.....so what did u do will mainly lose...this will happen after drinking...(even not too much they say wo..I don't know)....
but I think ur situation has lot of other condition (can play by ghost, Alien or people)....can have lot of possible....but according ur situtaion..ghost and people amy be possible more ...
